Just call me Bag Lady!

Well so... randomly up way too late, or too early as the case may be.  Leftover cough from the pneumonia keeps waking me, plus my mind racing with some other health issues that I will go into more when I get confirmations of test results and talk more with my family.   But please if you have a moment, send me a prayer and good thoughts, k?  Thanks =)

SO... Bags.   Take a look around your house.  Do you even realize how many bags you have?  I swear its crazy!   The thought came to me the other day as I was getting Dottie ready for school. She had Brownies in the afternoon, and needed a lunch that day because she had a field trip.  The child walked out of the house with 3 bags!  Her bookbag, her brownie bag, and her lunch bag.  Crazy right?  So it got me thinking.    How much do we really use all of these tote bags and backpacks we seem to have been collecting.   For this child alone, besides those three bags, she also has a bag for CCD, a bag for her multitude of barbies,  a bag for her small toys, another bag for doll clothes, yet another for her crafts.  And I know I haven't gotten them all!

For me?  I have a bag for school, a laptop bag, a make up bag, a purse or two (not used together lol) A bag for my sewing stuff, and them some bags that I store stuff in my closet with.    Brianna has her school bag, another drawstring bag that she uses often. and i believe another tote bag she uses on a regular basis, plus a few that she has floating around her room.    Catie just has a ton!!   She's got bags in her closet that I don't think she even knows what is in them!   But she has her purse, her bag for Harmony, a bag to use for gymnastics, another to use for sleepovers,  then not only does she have a bag for clothes for that but for all the other "essentials" she feels the need to take with her.  She has a bag for all of her toiletries, and a few other bags in her room that are full of stuff.. OH YEAH her CD bag as well.    I know John even has a couple he uses!   Backpack,  bag for his MMA stuff, and I'm sure even more.  Its really funny, because even when Bri's boyfriend comes over, it is rare that he doesn't have a backpack or something with him..  And when my future daughter in law comes over, she always has at least one with her as well!

So in my mind I start piling all of these bags up.  One on top of the other.   And I think it would look something like this, ( found on Bungalow Babe's blog )

Crazy right?   Yeah my mind thinks in mysterious ways.  But think about it, and go through your own closet and house and see.  I think you will be surprised by the amount of bags you have and how they have taken over your organizational skills!!   And think of me with a giggle ok? =)

Its Funny..

I've been telling myself for a long time that perhaps I should start a blog.  I've always found it cathartic to write my thoughts down, get them out in black (or pink, or whatever color) and white.  Often times, if I were having a bad day, or couldn't get my feelings straight, it was a terrific way for me to explain and organize what might be going through my mind and heart.

This week I have been thinking about it a lot.  I had whole paragraphs thought out in my head.  Cute anecdotes to share, all to find a way to tell you  about me.   Yet, when I finally got here, and set up this blog.  (Or re-set it up because apparently I had started one back in 2008 that had no posts on it LOL)  And suddenly all those wonderful paragraphs of words flew from my head and I sat here for a while staring at this page wondering just what I wanted to write about.  Not only that, but I second guessed myself.  Who was going to want to read it anyway?  I mean really, what is so interesting about me that people are going to care what I write? ...  Then I took a few more moments and realized.  It really doesn't matter.  I'm not writing this blog particularly for anyone to read it, but for myself more than anything.  To tell my stories of my life.  Interesting?  Probably not too much =)  but that's OK.  And if somewhere along the way, someone can relate and feel not so alone in what they are going through?  Bonus!

So, a little about me.  I'm a 45 year old, single mom of 4 amazing kids.  I am a student majoring in Multimedia Design and Development, and I have a multitude of illnesses that make my head spin... LOL Sometimes literally.. that I am sure I will talk about at a later date  ( probably later this week!)    To be perfectly honest, I'm never great at talking about myself, just giving the facts.   I don't really think that "just the facts, ma'am"  truly lets you gauge the personality of a person, who they are, what they think.. or what they feel.  So I guess what I am really doing here is inviting you in.  Have a seat,  cup of coffee.. and get to know me and my little world.  Who knows?  You might like it here.
